Ezekiel 12:3 (NLT)

“So now, son of man, pretend you are being sent into exile. Pack the few items an exile could carry, and leave your home to go somewhere else. Do this right in front of the people so they can see you. For perhaps they will pay attention to this, even though they are such rebels.”

Explanation of Ezekiel 12:3

In this verse, God commands Ezekiel to act out a prophetic sign of exile in front of the people. His demonstration served as a visual warning of the coming judgment on those still in Jerusalem. Despite the people’s rebellion, God hoped that by seeing Ezekiel’s obedience in action, they would wake up, pay attention, and turn back to Him.

The Why

This passage reminds us that sometimes words aren’t enough—God may call us to live out His message. Through obedience our lives become testimonies that speak louder than words. Just like Ezekiel, we are called to model truth and surrender visibly, even when others resist or rebel.

God calls us not just to speak His Word, but to live it out. Sharing the gospel alone may not always reach someone’s heart—because every person carries a unique story, battles different strongholds, and faces personal struggles. That’s why it’s not always enough to simply tell others what the Bible says or how they should live. We are also called to model it through obedience to God’s Word, prayer, and fasting.

Obedience becomes a testimony. Through it, we set an example for His Kingdom so that the Holy Spirit touches hearts and transforms lives.

Through obedience the Company EZ 12:3 was created. We believe that through our apparel the Holy Spirit will soften hearts and lead people to Christ.
